This is awesome…
It is a type of animal known as sea lilies. Normally they attach themselves to the ground, but this one was captured on film jogging across the sea floor.

And from Bad Astronomy we have news of testing a Methane Engine. The picture looks CGI, but it’s real.
If I ever retire to become a fulltime sci-fi/fantasy writer, I think a good portion of my time will be spent scouring science blogs for inspiration.
